The Rhythm of Spring

Spring doesn’t arrive all at once.

It unfolds slowly, gently, almost quietly at first, there is a soft awakening.
Light returns. Air feels fresher. The body begins to stir after the stillness of winter.

Then comes gentle growth - more energy, more colour, more life. We feel the pull to move, to step outside, to reconnect with ourselves and the world around us.

And finally, uplift - a sense of lightness. Clarity. Renewed energy and perspective.

This Spring Day Retreat is designed to mirror that same natural rhythm.

We won’t rush into the day or ask too much of you too soon. Instead, you’ll be guided into a slow awakening through gentle yoga and deep rest in a sound bath, allowing your body and mind to settle and soften.

From there, the day unfolds into gentle growth — nourishing food, fresh air, journaling, connection and self-care practices that help you feel grounded, present and restored.

And as the afternoon lifts, so will your energy. A revitalising Yogalates session will awaken strength and vitality before we close with a calming Yoga Nidra, leaving you feeling clear, balanced and quietly uplifted.

Just like spring itself.

This is a day to move with the season, to honour where you are, and to leave feeling lighter, brighter and re-energised for the months ahead.

You may notice that the flow of this day is a little different from what you might expect on a typical retreat. Rather than beginning with strong movement and ending with rest, this day has been intentionally designed around a key yogic principle known as the three gunas — the natural qualities of energy that move through all of us.

In yoga philosophy, our body and mind move between tamas (rest and stillness), rajas (movement and activity) and sattva (clarity and balance).

This natural progression mirrors both the wisdom of yoga and the rhythm of spring itself — a slow awakening, gentle growth and a return to lightness and balance.  Instead of pushing against these rhythms, we will move with them.
